MEMA Secures Increase in Fuel Assistance Margin
After several months of work with Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) officials in Massachusetts, MEMA was able to secure a 25-cent per gallon increase in Margin-Over-Rack payments to retailers delivering to qualified fuel assistance customers.
Commission on Clean Heat Issues Final Report
Following nearly 12 months of work, the Commission on Clean Heat has issued its final report. The Commission was appointed by former Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker. MEMA member Charlie Uglietto, President of Cubby Oil & Energy, served on the Commission.
Boston Globe Publishes MEMA Letter-to-Editor
In response to efforts by state lawmakers to ban fossil fuel installations in cities and towns across the Commonwealth, MEMA President Michael Ferrante and Steve Dodge with Clean Fuels Alliance of America submitted a letter to the Boston Globe.
NY Bioheat Bill Signed Into Law
The new law, which makes New York the largest state to enact a biodiesel blending requirement for heating oil, will reduce the state’s annual carbon emissions by approximately 1 million metric tons.
